Et oui, la horde de phoques polaires que nous sommes a accueilli pendant deux semaines un bebe cachalot, ayant fait ses premiers battements de nageoires a l'aquarium de Berlin ! La cohabitation entre le petite Delphine et les habitants du pole fut paisible et sans heurt malgré quelques chamailleries entre un gros phoque mâle (Xuda) et le patriarche des lions de mer (Cedric). L'escale fut cependant courte, étant donne que la saison des amours s'annonce très en avance sur les bords de la rivière Spree - bien connue pour la reproduction des cachalots blancs. Delphine se voit alors repartir pour de plus beaux batifolages en eaux baltiques mais annonce, avec joie et les fanons au vent, un retour éventuel dans l'ocean indien pour une nouvelle chasse aux harengs (Charles) en 2011! Tenez vous prets, attention a la vague !

The Lorelei might settle down on the banks of the Spree River in Berlin, where she is always been happy and fulfilled. Summer/Winter, Men/Women, Cats/Dogs... What is that all about? Why one day, someone decided that we should be thaaat different from another? Why are we made to fight? Why do people like the one and hate the other? Would the world really be working if there were no rivalry? Personally, I don't think so, everything would be an unbalanced mess. And the world would be perfect and perfectly boring. However, there are people who love summers AND winters, there are even people who love men AND women. So, you can either choose or have it all. My pets decided it was high time to stand up against this prejudiced world to show that even Cats and Dogs could get along well. Cheers to that!

Eté/Hiver, Homme/Femme, Chats/Chiens... Pourquoi tant de différences ? Pourquoi sommes nous tous si différents les uns des autres ? Pourquoi sommes nous faits pour ne JAMAIS se comprendre ? Pourquoi certains aiment l'un et pas l'autre ? Ces rivalités sont elles réellement nécessaires ? Moi, je crois que oui. Sans tout ça, le monde ressemblerait a un gros bordel. Un endroit ou tout serait parfait mais tellement ennuyeux! Cependant, il y a des gens qui aiment l'été autant que l'hiver et même les hommes autant que les femmes. Alors, on peut soit choisir, soit tout embrasser. Aujourd'hui, Lina et Miko ont décidé de se révolter contre ce monde stéréotypé pour vous montrer que même Chats et Chiens pouvaient s'entendre. Alors, on s'kiss ?

Pajamas / Pijamas

For those who know me well, they know that, as a typical Frenchman, I like to criticize China though I really like this country... otherwise why would I still be here? Anyway, for that article, I will have to be a way more specific and respectful towards people who also think that this shanghainese habit is ridiculous. Yes, I asked around, and nowhere in China but only in the international metropolis, one can admire (or laugh at) people wearing their pajamas as a normal outfit. It is a daily pleasure, an eye candy of any time, a little moment of bliss in a shitty day! If you have never come to Shanghai, be prepared, some of the old generation of locals actually go out shopping, take the subway and even walk on the main street in their pajamas. For people who want more details, I read that, in the 90ies, Shanghai started a campaign to prevent locals from going out in their PJs but that the local government gave up after having heard too many "It's comfortable, and why do you care?"
So, when you come from a country where people even dress up to pick up their laundry, to buy bread or to open their mailbox, the shock is fatal.

Pour ceux qui me connaissent assez bien, ils savent qu'en tant que Francais, je ne peux m'empecher de critiquer la Chine mais qu'au fond, j'aime ce pays... Sinon, qu'est-ce que je foutrais encore la? Bref, ce que je veux dire c'est que ,pour cet article, il faudra preciser que cette etrange habitude que les Shanghainais ont, n'est pas commune a tous les Chinois. J'ai meme demande a mes collegues, mes amis et autres gens autour de moi mais apparemment, il n'y a que dans la metropole que l'on peut admirer (ou se foutre) des gens en pijamas ringares dans la rue. C'est un vrai plaisir, un pincement de levres, un sourire detendu au beau milieu d'une journee de merde! Si vous n'etes jamais venu ici, soyez donc prets, les vieux sortent faire les courses et prennent meme le metro avec leurs plus belles combinaisons-pijamas. Pour ceux qui s'interessent au sujet, j'ai lu que dans les annees 90, une campagne fut menee pour le gouvernement local afin d'empecher les gens de sortir dans cet habit. Apres les baches et autres "Qu'est ce que ca peut te faire?", les officiers ont arrete la chasse aux pijamas.
Quand, on vient d'un pays ou les gens font attention a leur look meme pour aller chercher une baguette ou leur courrier, laissez-moi vous dire que, le choc est fatal.

For people suffering from agoraphobia, I won't recommend China as the perfect destination. More than 1.7 billion people living on that part of Earth, most of them have deserted the rural areas and have come to the big cities to find jobs... here comes Shanghai! Now, for those who are familiar with that city, they will recognize the area shown in the picture: People Square subway station, weekdays around PM 5:30... Be prepared!

Une destination que je ne recommanderai jamais aux agoraphobes, c'est bien la Chine. Bientot pres de deux milliard d'individus, tous ayant quittes la campagne pour rejoindre la cote et les grandes villes, nous y voila! Bienvenu a Shanghai! Pour ceux qui seraient deja venus, ils n'auront pas de mal a reconnaitre l'endroit ou j'ai pris cette photo: Arret de metro People Square, un jour de semaine vers les 17h30... Soyez prets!

 Chenglish / Chenglish

For those who never heard the term Chinglish, let's say it's the equivalent of Spanglish (Spanish-English language mix) but with Chinese. One translates one chinese expression into English keeping the chinese grammar. Most of the time these wrong translations, full of mistakes, will make you smile and let you have a better day, whichever country you are in. Though, other times, these meaningless signs can become very insulting. Be careful then!

Pour ceux qui ne sauraient pas de quoi il s'agit, c'est une deformation de l'Anglais par le Chinois. Le Chinois de base traduira sa phrase en Anglais mais respectera la grammaire chinoise, ce qui, bien sur, pose probleme. Pour la plupart d'entre nous, ces petits panneaux affichant tant de fautes nous feront rire mais pour d'autres, tels handicapes, ils deviendront vite vexant. Alors, attention!

For some, it might be a way to get treats easily. For others, it's time to play tricks for free. But for some of us, it's definitely the "once-a-year party"... Make sure to look glamourous and sexy and not to embarrass yourself and you'll be so much better than all these ghosts and monsters! Halloween has improved, Halloween has changed, even in China! Frankensteins have left and a whole bunch of sexy nurses, divas, and sexy uniforms have taken their seats. So what will it be, trick? Or treat? Enjoy!

Pour certains, c'est un moyen de chopper des bonbons gratis, pour d'autres c'est le moment de resortir les dentiers sataniques. Mais pour d'autres comme nous, c'est la fete de l'annee ou TOUT est possible... Abandonne l'idee du costume traditionnel qui te ferait passer pour un naz, pose ton masque de sorciere et laisse place au glamour et a la beaugossite! Halloween a change, ce n'est plus une fete de quartier, meme en Chine! Les autres Frankensteins sont partis se rhabiller et les divas, les infirmieres et autres uniformes sexy ont pris leurs places au premier rang. Alors cette annee, ca sera quoi? Trick or Treat? The Autumn Festival has started already and our Daniel has gone. After a beautiful ceremony on Tian An Men Square and a cool shopping day with his friends, he left for his home town where he will spend time with his relatives and probably eat a lot of moon cakes. We wish him a lot of fun and we look forward to seeing him very soon. Right under, a picture that we took on the street in Shanghai, we thought we had found his adoptive mother... of style!

 Le Festival d'Automne est deja en chemin et notre cher Daniel aussi. Apres une belle ceremonie sur la place Tian An Men et une journee shopping avec ses amis, ce dernier est parti pour sa ville natale ou il va retrouver ses parents et manger beaucoup de gateaux de lune. On lui souhaite plein de bon temps et on l'attend avec impatience. Ci-apres, photo prise dans une rue de Shanghai ou nous avions cru reconnaitre sa mere adoptive... de style!
